What if chinese and indonesian food combined together on the same table? Can you recognize which food it is? aku bisa,hehe..What would you like to eat first?:-) As long as dou shi halal food, dou keyi! I would prefer to taste the chinese food first, because i am indonesian ;-)
On Wednesday i and Iin went to Ma laoshi jia in Yonghe for cooking indonesian food. Yea..Ma laoshi shi yi ge Taiwan lao mama..She is a very nice and kind woman.I often see her in mosque, but that day was our first time came to her house because of invitation. So long time i didnt touch garlic, onion, chilli, and other spices during in Taiwan for this second time, and that time i started to prove my cooking skill to Taiwanese hahaha..I and Iin just brought the ‘bumbu-bumbu’, so we can easily mixed with other ingredients such chicken and beef. The beef and the chicken are halal, Ma laoshi bought them in ‘pasar jumat’ of the mosque. We cooked four kinds indonesian dishes: Rawon,Opor,Tumis Kangkung, and Ayam Bali (niatnya ayam bali, tapi setelah dimasak malah seperti ayam rica-rica, itu juga garlic n onion-nya banyak yang masih utuh karena sulit ditumbuk halus hehehehe). Though Ayam Bali’s appearance was not perfect and far from its characteristic, but Ma Laoshi furthermore most liked its taste very much,so spicy and really delicious! :-D
After cooked our special foods, there was also a sister who joined us and took the chinese food part. I dont know what the food’s name is, but i saw her made it so simple and no need many ingredients like our foods. Indonesian food known for its hot spicy and rich taste with many bumbu and complicated ways to make. Syukur ada lumpang untuk numbuk bumbu, walaupun pakai ulekan lebih maksimal hasilnya, at least we did it..yeah! From this picture maybe you can differentiate and see which one indonesian food is.. :-D
After lunch together, we talked, shared and read some duas. She was a chinese teacher in a school for twenty more years, and had been retired for eight years. By the time she retired, she spends much time for learning Quran and Arabic in mosque and even at home by listening some cassettes. Well, there is no age limit for studying and seeking knowledge, it is a whole life learning. Salut sama semangat belajarnya! Setelah ashar, kita makan dumplings goreng alias ‘guotie’ sapi, plus minum yoghurt enak. Jadi ingin masak lagi :-(
Alhamdulillah i could ate indonesian food in chinese new year holiday, oh opor ayam, oh rawon, oh cah kangkung, oh ayam rica-rica eh ayam bali..At first, Iin was the chef and i became her assistant, namun selama masak, kita sering mengambil alih tugas masing-masing haha..spontaneous. We cooperated together that time. Sudah sampai sini dulu bicara tentang makanannya, semoga ada kesempatan bisa masak lagi di manapun kapanpun dan yang terpenting harus ‘qingzhen’. ;) Bravo masakan indonesia!
